Welcome to Reddingmuirhead Playgroup.  We hope that both you and your child will benefit considerably from your experiences during your time spent at playgroup.  To answer some of your frequently asked questions, this information has been produced.  We hope that you will read it and if you still have questions feel free to contact a staff or committee member.

 

 

Reddingmuirhead Playgroup exists to provide a safe and stimulating environment in which pre-school children can play and learn together.  This cannot be done without the involvement and support of parents or carers.  The Committee will endeavor to ensure that your views are sought and participation in the management and running of the group will be encouraged.

 

 

On a day-to-day basis the Staff will ensure that:

 

  • The welcome extended to children is warm and individually directed.
  • The level of individual attention, comfort and physical contact offered is appropriate to the expression of distress or anxiety.
  • Strategies used to encourage children to join in activities allow them to adjust in their own way and at their own pace.
  • The activities on offer are appropriate to the broad level of development of the children.
  • The presentation of equipment and materials is varied to attract children to use activities and allows for choice and experimentation.
  • The quality of the equipment and materials is sufficient to enable the planned number of children to participate.
  • The hygiene and safety of equipment and materials is checked before use and defective equipment is removed.
  • Communication with parents makes clear that their presence at the Playgroup is welcome.
  • Any accidents or injuries to children are dealt with in a safe, hygienic manner and an accurate report made as soon as possible afterwards.
  • Information about any such incident is reported in a calm and accurate manner to the child's parent or carer as soon as possible afterwards.
  • A register of all children present is kept and periodic head counts are carried out.
